Howdy Survivors, 

We hope everyone is safe and well. Today we have a short and sweet update to give y'all a first look at the Gears and Guns Expansion resins. But first, a quick update on the Pledge Manager: We have been working on the system, however, we still don't have date set for the release. We know you're anxious to confirm your Undead or Alive pledges and we'll make sure to keep you updated as soon as we have more news. Now, let's check this steampunk-themed expansion filled with Survivors decked out in the latest experimental weapons and armor. They're all geared up to go Full Steam! 

There are a total of 10 Survivors in Gears and Guns. They're equipped to navigate their way around the dangerous town and rescue any posse-mates that might've been left behind. 

The Gears and Guns expansion contains a special Abomination, unique to the campaign: The Steam Monster! When entering a Zone, the Steam Monster causes all Steam Nozzles to break and unleash deadly jets of Steam. This is to the detriment of the Survivors since the steam jets have no effect on zombies, apart from obscuring their lines of sight. 

This particular fellow was another one of Jason Hendrick's hand-sculpted creations. We've got some photos of the work in progress of the Steam Monster!

A Toss of the Dice

Howdy Survivors, 

While we're still rustling up the Pledge Manager, here's an update on the dice-ier side of Undead or Alive. The Metal Steam Dice is a Kickstarter Exclusive Optional Buy to add that added oomph to your dice throws. 

Similar to the All-Out dice in the Campaign expansions of Zombicide: 2nd Edition, these dice are used to determine whether you get to Keep a weapon while progressing to the next mission. They are also used when Survivors go Full Steam, rolling Steam Dice as extra attack dice, at the risk of depleting your weapon. If you do happen to roll a depleted result, the Steam Weapon may not be used until it is refilled by means of a Steam Bottle item or at Steam Nozzles found around the map!

For example, the Advanced Chainsaw weapon has a '+1' gauge above the number of attack dice. This means you add 1 Steam Die to your Full Steam attack. This weapon also has a 'keep value' indicated by the lock icon on the top right corner of the card. At the end of the mission, the Survivor with this weapon will roll 6 Steam Dice. If any of them rolls a 'depleted' result the weapon will be discarded. 

Now that we've done a recap on how the Steam Dice work, let's dive into the sample photos, shall we? 

Though it might look clear in the close-up photographs,  we noticed that the initial samples were hard to read from certain angles because of the lack of color differentiation between the icons and dice body. 

We continued to try and improve the readability and went through a few more iterations of the metal steam dice before arriving at the result on the far right.  

In this version, we were able to achieve a more refined metallic look, while the dark patina not only helps players make out the gear icons more easily, but also gives the dice a nice weathered look, like a well-oiled machine.

And that wraps up the journey of the metal dice!

Howdy Survivors!

We hope everyone safe and well. Today we have a pictures of Long Dead Walker pack resins we have recently received to share along with a quick update on the pledge manager release date.

Pledge Manager Update

We've been working on the pledge manager, however, the release will take longer than initially anticipated. While we can't give an exact date, we'll be sure to keep everyone posted when we have more information.

Long Dead Walkers

Now, moving to the Long Dead Walker pack resins. These are available as a Kickstarter exclusive add-on, bringing 15 miniatures and a variant walker rule for your games. The final plastic will come in a thematic spooky off-white color for an easier distinction of standard walkers.

Factory: Behind the Scenes

Howdy Survivors, 

Since the last update on the dashboard, those samples were approved and the tooling had commenced! This week we're taking a sneak peek into the mold tooling progress of our plastic dashboard, flame adrenaline tracker, and dynamite pegs. 

These components will be available in every Zombicide: Undead or Alive core box, while additional sets can also be purchased in the Extra Players Upgrade Set (which allows you to upgrade your games to a maximum of 12 players!) 

Without further ado, let's dive into these inner workings.

As you can see here, the main body of the dashboard plates has been prepared. You can see the outlines of the areas where the Zombicide logo and inventory symbols have yet to be carved into the surface. 

This set of plates will eventually become part of our flame trackers found on the bottom of each dashboard. 

And lastly, we have the molds for the dynamite pegs. Multiple molds of these were produced because of the number of pegs in each Undead or Alive core box.  

Looks like there's a lot more work to be done, so we'd better get going!

Deadstock Abomination Pack: Resins

Howdy Survivors, 

A steady stream of samples have begun to roll in and today we'll be taking a look at the abominations in our Kickstarter Exclusive Deadstock: Abomination Pack Optional Buy. 

Across the campaign, we've had many sculpts that were originally hand-sculpted without the use of digital software.  Some of these include the Abominabear, Bizon, Crocosaur, and even The Great Trickster! 

After the sculptor has finalized their work, the master sculpts are carefully packaged and delivered to the factory.  The factory then creates a temporary silicone mold out of the master sculpts, which is used to cast the resins. The pictures below are the results of the painstaking process.
