Howdy, Survivors!

First off, we'd like to show you the painted version of yesterday's Daily Duel Abomination, the Alpha Bane!

Painted by Angel Giraldez. Note that figures come unpainted.

We also just hit the mark of $1,200k and unlocked Connie for all backers:

Coming up next, we’ll meet a survivor whose life has already been turned upside down once, and he’s ready for it again.

When we reach $1,250k we will unlock for all backers the Kickstarter Exclusive Survivor Benji, including his figure and ID card.

Lines by Jérémy Masson, colors by Cherie Tay (CDS).

Benji is a man with a mission. In his case: exacting his revenge as he meant it. He’ll follow this mission to the very end, and mow down as many zombies as he can while at it. Having gone through many lifestyles, Benji has learned a lot from life, and even though nowadays he favors his axes, he still retains survival and scavenging skills from his previous civilian life.

3D render of Benji, sculpted by Rafal Zelazo.

A friendly reminder, partners!

Just a few moments ago we announced the Gears & Guns campaign expansion, bringing steampunk survivors, zombies, new items, a brand new Engineer Class and Campaign Mode! Check it out if you haven't yet:

And now, on to the today's duel!

* Dramatic guitar chord *

As we ready ourselves for the deadly duel, the sound of the guitar echoes in the empty main street. The hands of the undead Mariachi twitch and spasm, hitting the guitar strings in what must surely be some odd post-mortem contractions. And yet.. it actually sounds pretty good, combined with his melodic growling! Makes it hard to concentrate and fire true when you almost want to tap your foot to the tempo of the "music". We stall way longer than we should (it sounds like the best bit is coming up...).

We have unlocked for all backers the Kickstarter Exclusive Mariachi zombie, including his walker figure. Daily Duel walkers are used like an extra walker figure, but they each have a special rule of their own that players can use to spice up their game.

Lines by Jérémy Masson, colors by Simon Tessuto.

The sounds of the Mariachi are very distracting, making it hard to attack. Any attack action directed at his zone has its Accuracy target increased by +1.

3D render of the Mariachi, sculpted by Elfried Perochon.

Tomorrow we'll face a heavy hitter.

Happy trails to you, ’til we meet again.

Howdy, Survivors!

We've just met the $1,150k, unlocking Tripps for all backers:

Reaching this mark comes in the heels of our recently announced Gears & Guns campaign expansion! Check it out below if you haven't yet:

The Gears & Guns campaign expansion features new survivors, zombies, steam-powered items, the brand-new Engineer Class, and a Campaign Mode with story-driven objectives!

Up next, we’ll meet a survivor for whom the recent turn of events set him on an obstinate path – and not on the account of the undead!

When we reach $1,200k we will unlock for all backers the Kickstarter Exclusive Survivor Connie, including his figure and ID card.

Lines by Jérémy Masson, colors by Simon Tessuto.

Connie might have thought he had just transitioned into a calm, peaceful life after the years as a lawman, but between the rise of the undead and the theft of his wife’s wedding ring, his life has become anything but calm. Thankfully, he hasn’t forgotten his combat skills and still excels when fighting from a distance, particularly so when he’s able to focus and shoot many times in a row.

Happy trails to you, ’til we meet again.

Howdy, Survivors!

We've just met the $1,100k mark, unlocking Lilith for all backers!

Our next survivor makes do with rugged good looks, a dash of luck, and not a single drop of spirits.

When we reach $1,150k we will unlock for all backers the Kickstarter Exclusive Survivor Tripps, including his figure and ID card.

Lines by Jérémy Masson, colors by Chan Guosong (CDS).

As a wandering gunslinger in the West, Tripps used to do quite well for himself. Trouble is, there ain’t nearly as much gambling or gaming to be had when there’s a horde of hungry zombies around the corner. Thus, Tripps started to employ his good fortune in other areas of expertise, mainly experimenting how his lucks holds when shooting zombies from a good distance. So far, his luck is holding up!

Why don't we take the opportunity on this calm Sunday to continue exploring the contents from the Zombicide: Undead or Alive core box? We've seen the Zombies yesterday. But today's time to get up close and personal.

First up, we've got Carl, the blacksmithing brawler. His great bulk and strength allow him to deal extra damage to zombies and shove 'em around like it's no big deal.

Dressed to kill, Hanna's favourite past time post-apocalypse is sniping down walkers from balconies. Her range of skills complement her role as a sniper, to take care of foes at a distance, but she needs to make sure she doesn't get cornered!

Sister Concepción has faith that the apocalypse will end eventually. ’Til then, she’ll provide support to other Survivors by immobilizing zombies in their tracks with Vade Retro.

A man of few words, Jeb’s a straight talker and straight shooter. He’s point-blank with his words and guns.

No stranger to the grind, hard days of prospecting has given Henry the endurance to charge further and live longer than the typical Survivor. Even Abominations don’t phase him any longer!

Jimmy’s a bit of a wildcard. He’s done a little of everything in his time, from gunslinging to brawling. The adaptability comes in very handy during the end times. Still, he wishes life could go back to the way he knew it.

Brash and bold, Kassey seems to know no fear. Though a little reckless, she’s able to charge in and out of zones, ducking and dodging effectively because of her small stature.

Meg is not one to be trifled with. She applies her extensive experience chasing down outlaws to hunting zombies, reloading her pistols at spitfire speeds, and unloading into the horde. In her mind, you're either quick or you're dead.

The lady Miss Molly seems an unlikely gunslinger. Yet, with some luck and fancy fanning, she manages to stay on top of the horde.

Thomas’ strong conviction rallies other Survivors to deal more damage against enemies. His ability as a great marksman also makes sure he doesn’t harm any innocents in his bullet’s path.

Life in the Wild West has taught Trixie that there are many ways to approach each situation. Whether it’s leaping onto balconies to snipe or trading her rifle for a pistol, she’s ready to clash with whatever comes.

Turner's been around a while, honing his gunslinging skills while he travelled. He's never fully cemented a place for himself before the zombie apocalypse. But perhaps there's some room for a marksman, expert in fanning in your posse?

Howdy, Survivors!

In the heat of a shootout who has time to pass dice around, am I right? And if you're going to add more dice to your gaming table, you should do it in style.

For $10, this Kickstarter Exclusive Optional Buy brings you a pack of 6 custom wooden dice. These have the same design as the upgraded core box dice: a cowboy hat-wearing zombie head for 1, a lit dynamite stick for 6, and playing card suits for 2 to 5. However, these special dice have symbols in both red and black, following the traditional playing card look.

If you don't want to pass dice around the table all the time, and add an extra saloon vibe to your games, make sure to add the Kickstarter Exclusive Wooden Dice pack to your pledge!

As we have a little more peace and quiet on this Saturday, let's take this opportunity to take a closer look at the Zombies from the Zombicide: Undead or Alive core box.

First off, we have the Walkers. Not much of a threat on their own, but if you allow them to swarm around unchecked, you're in for a world of trouble.

Next we have the Runners. These guys are fast and will be on your throat in no time unless you always have a few bullets ready with their names on it.

Then there are the Fatties. They're slow, but very hard to take down. You better be quick about finding a weapon with a caliber big enough to put down a bison if you don't want to become their next meal.

Last, but certainly not least, there's the fearsome Abomination! This hulking monster is almost impossible to take down. Normal weapons can't hurt it, unless they're wielded by very powerful and experienced survivors. Your best bet is finding some Dynamite and blowing them to smithereens. But Abominations are not just tough, they're also a beacon to other zombies. As long as an Abomination is on the board, all Abomination Spawn Zones remain active, flooding the town with more of the undead!

Oh, and let's finish this off with one of the Zombies' greatest foes, the deadly Gatling Gun! Moving it around usually consumes a Survivor's entire turn, but if you position it right where you need it, you're set. This machine can mow down hordes of Walkers, Runners, and Fatties at a very good range. And with the Escalation skill, the more you keep firing, the more dice you roll.

Ain’t Nothing So Fragile as a Young Cowboy

Howdy, Survivors!

The first weekend begins and one more Stretch Goal is unlocked!

Coming up next we’ll meet a survivor that defies all expectations thrown at her to walk her own path:

When we reach $1,100k we will unlock for all backers the Kickstarter Exclusive Survivor Lillith, including her figure and ID card.

Lines by Jérémy Masson, colors by Simon Tessuto.

Lilith partakes from both worlds: fighting and ranching, and her flexiblity shows now that the world is full of zombies. She’s able to put her survival skills to good use all the while being able to handle a pistol as well as any shooter in town. Best of both worlds? You bet!

Happy trails to you, ’til we meet again.
